“Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon ... must inevitably come to pass!” Paul J. Meyer
I really love this quote! It has permeated my thoughts and actions for over twenty years and has truly challenged me to live a life full of good things. Let’s break it down.
Whatever you vividly imagine ... We were each given a special gift at birth and that was the gift of imagination. Think of the wonderful imagination of Walt Disney and the creation of the Mickey Mouse empire. It has touched all of our lives. How about the imagination of Bill Gates? Or how about Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel? I have always been amazed at the imaginations of Michael Faraday, Issac Newton, and Thomas Edison, scientist/inventors whose imaginative creativity has enhanced our lives in so many ways. Wow! Imagine being able to see into the unknown and capturing the vision. Now that’s imagination!
Ardently desire ... This is desire from the heart not just the mind. Your heart’s desire is much more long term than something you desire in your mind. I know I ardently desire a great relationship with my dear wife of thirty years and that ardent desire motivates me to work consistently and tenaciously at our relationship.
Sincerely believe ... A belief and conviction in something is where our mindsets are established. These beliefs help us persevere through the difficult times. What we sincerely believe is deep seated in the human minda conviction that does not waver but remains steadfast in our thinking.
And enthusiastically act upon ... It is one thing to think about something, yet entirely another to take action on that idea with enthusiasm. Having that spark that lights the fire that boils the steam that motivates actionnow that is how things get done!
Must inevitably come to pass. We cannot all be a Michelangelo or a Bill Gates, but we all have the same ability to succeed in life. Nothing happens by osmosisand so it is with successbut whenever we have the desire and belief to enthusiastically act on something we have imagined, it can and will become a reality.
So what are you waiting for? Get out those vivid imaginations, dust off your ardent desire, polish your sincere belief and move into enthusiastic action-and I can just about guarantee you will see the fulfillment of your dreams!
