I really believe the key to Peace on Earth is the act of showing "good will" towards our fellow citizens on this planet. Yes, it?s easy to write about it, yet entirely another to actually live this attitude out in our daily human connections. I am so often amazed at the results of even the slightest bit of effort on my part to be friendly and cordial to someone else. I find it is the most rewarding action I take.
Recently I had an opportunity to ask an individual in normal and typical conversation, how he was doing. He responded by telling me about every physical ailment that he has with his body. Seriously, this man is in real tough shape. I began counting my blessings. The point though that I want to make is this, that if you are going to ask someone how they are you had better really care, and then be prepared to listen as they tell you.
In all honesty there is not much I can personally do for this person, other than to just be a good listener. And that I did, as well as promising to pray for him.
In the spirit of good will toward our fellow man, I pause at this time of the year, to reflect on my personal attitudes, and to make sure that I am making a sincere effort to live out what I speak and write about on a daily basis. Please hold me accountable to this kind of attitude. I need to live it out at home and in the business world.
Yes, I believe you and I are very capable of taking that step to offer good will toward all those we meet each day. Take action, and you will become!
