There are sevral things that motivate us. Here are some examples: Fear, Time and Deadlines, Incentive and Reward, and of course, Boot Strap motivation.
Let me clarify Boot Strap motivation. When we are working towards a goal, a dream, a task, or a desire in our lives and we encounter difficulty, or an obstacle, and it slams us down and slams us down hard, this is when we need to pull ourselves up by the determination and tenacity deep within us and press on.
I have noticed that often times during the periods of difficulty or challenge in life, it seems as though our friends are hard to find. When we are needing encouragement the most, we find ourselves alone. This is the precise time when we need to pull ourselves up by the boot straps, dust ourselves off, shake it off, learn from our mistakes, and move in a forward direction. This is not easy to do, but vital for success and healthy living.
