Seeds of Success: Tough Times Make People
By Robert A. Prentice
It would be an understatement to say that we are living in some pretty tough times in our world and economy today.
Looking back over the last 25 plus years of self employment I can honestly say that it has not always been very easy.
Actually the truth, at times, surviving has been very difficult.
Has all the pain, the challenges and the hassle been worth it? I believe so. This is why I think and have this specific mindset.
Tough times make people stronger, smarter, and better looking (smile) if you work the program correctly. Allowing the challenges to cause you to think more creatively, to shift standard operating procedures, to get out of the norm, to completely throw away the box and begin a new. Not just think outside of it, but actually start from scratch. Rebuilding from the roots and the core of your passions.
I like to begin anew each day, week, month, year and decade. Begin each with fresh new thinking, and fresh new planning.
The result, well fresh new results are the result and get you the return on investments. The sweat and the blood are paying off. Tough times make people stronger. Tough times bring out the best in we mere humans if we allow them.
On the Sunny Side of Life: The economy is so bad...
The economy is so bad that I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.
The economy is so bad, I ordered a burger at McDonalds and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?"
The economy is so bad that CEOs are now playing miniature golf.
The economy is so bad if the bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," you call them and ask if they meant you or them.
The economy is so bad Hot Wheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM.
The economy is so bad McDonalds is selling the 1/4 ouncer.
The economy is so bad parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names.
The economy is so bad a truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico.
The economy is so bad Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting.
The economy is so bad Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.
The economy is so bad the Mafia is laying off judges.
The economy is so bad Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.
