Attitudes to Live By

"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved." –Helen Keller

"Life is like a grindstone--whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you're made of." –Unknown

"When you get to the end of all the light you know and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly." –Edward Teller

"If you're going through Hell, keep going." –Winston Churchill

Seeds of Success: Tough Times Pass

By Robert A. Prentice

Everyday lately I am telling myself that this too shall pass. Whether it be the tough cold I am fighting or this unsettling economy, with all kinds of challenges and difficulties it is presenting to each and everyone of us, I find myself needing a pep talk almost every hour. Do you ever feel that way? Each of us must understand and sometimes just be reminded that tough times pass. They always do. The sun will shine again.

One of the key things we can do in difficult times like this is find creative ways to improve our given situations. Often necessity is the mother of invention. Out of the negatives come more positives. We each need to dig deep into ourselves, our resources, our surroundings, our network of relationships,  uncovering that incredible and tremendous potential, then releasing that potential. We all have it. It is there. We shall access it. We must tap into it now. Greatness will be found. Be assured.

Tell yourself that wherever you are at that you are there for a reason. It is o.k. to be there at this time. Tell yourself and remind yourself that it is o.k. to fail, to struggle, to even feel defeat. The good news is: SUCCESS comes from failure!

Tough times shall pass, so enjoy your journey and toughen up.
