From the Desk of Bob
Wednesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. (central time), right here at your computer is the time and place for a special webinar I am calling "Breakfast of Champions!" This webinar is for those who desire a mid-week boost to enhance their success attitudes. "Breakfast for Champions!" is a short, sweet session designed to challenge you to maximize your life.
There's room for up to 20 people to participate each week and you can sign up for as many sessions as you like, as it fits in your schedule. So bring your breakfast to your computer screen, sign in and tap into this outstanding program. Each week we will focus on one specific aspect of attitude, skill, and/or knowledge.
Sign up for "Breakfast of Champions" at www.mrattitudespeaks.com. Please note there is a small fee involved.
On another note, we are focusing our energy here on speaking to groups who are meeting at conferences and association events. (This is where I believe I do my best work.) If you are a member of an association that needs a speaker to kick of the conference or end the conference on a positive high note, please have them get a hold of me.
Also, we have a huge number of audio recordings on my audio blog called Prairie Beacon Radio. These recordings are short and sweet and if you have never heard them please take a few minutes to check them out at www.prairiebeaconradio.com.
Finally, if you have participated in one or more of my seminars in the past, I sure would like to hear from you regarding the benefits you have received from the training. I am compiling this information for some future marketing strategies so I would need your permission to use what you send me. Please send a hand-written or typed note on your letterhead, if possible, stating how my training has benefited you to: Bob Prentice

Seeds of Success: Cogitate; Then Take Action
By Robert A. Prentice
"cogitate" (verb) - To take careful thought or think carefully about; ponder.
To think or think about carefully and at length: chew on (or over), consider, contemplate, deliberate, entertain, excogitate, meditate, mull, muse, ponder, reflect, revolve, ruminate, study, think, think out, think over, think through, turn over, weigh. Idioms: cudgel one's brains, put on one's thinking cap, rack one's brain.
To use the powers of the mind, as in conceiving ideas, drawing inferences, and making judgments: cerebrate, deliberate, ratiocinate, reflect, speculate, think. Idioms: put on one's thinking cap, use one's head.
Notice the word "careful" in that definition above-it's a key word here. It is so vital to take the time and energy to focus our energies on the challenges and opportunities that are presented to each of us daily and to carefully ponder them. I must admit I enjoy taking time to sit and ponder-to put my thinking cap on so to speak. I make a deliberate decision to sit, relax, and think out and think over situations in my life on a regular basis.
Actually, we all do this to some degree or another as we solve and resolve challenges everyday and some of us get quite good at this process. Recently I made a list of several things that I must take time to think about and process in order to make some kind of change in a number of situations. To get my head wrapped around these challenges is mandatory for my future success. Procrastination is not an option. Currently, I am giving each specific challenge the time needed to find the answers I seek.
I have found, though, that I can only cogitate so long though. Ultimately, I need to plan a specific strategy and pull the trigger-literally take some kind of action. Taking action confidently and enthusiastically, and taking action now is my mantra. I hang on to this mindset like a pair of vice grips. I am determined to succeed more fully in my relationships, my personal and professional growth, and every other area of my life.
How about you? What do you need to take some time to cogitate on? Are there some decisions to make? Maybe up have some situations to shift or change in your life? Stop and cogitate today. Do some thinking and planning and take action now.
On the Sunny Side of Life: Do I Smell Gas?
Two gas company servicemen, a training supervisor and a young trainee, were out checking meters in a suburban neighborhood. They parked their truck at the end of the alley and worked their way to the other end. At the last house a woman looking out her kitchen window watched the two men as they checked her gas meter.
Finishing the meter check, the supervisor challenged his younger co-worker to a footrace down the alley back to the truck to prove that an older guy could outrun a younger one.
As they came running up to the truck, they realized the lady from the last house was huffing and puffing right behind them. Naturally, they stopped and asked her what was wrong.
Gasping for breath, she replied, "When I see two gas men running as hard as you two were, I just knew I'd better run too!"
