Seeds of Success: A Time Management Tool That Works
By Robert A. Prentice
I challenge myself to manage my time more effectively by applying a formula I call The Quick Start Concept. By thinking in terms of the firsts-first hour of the day, first day of the week, first week of the month, and so on-and focusing on planning in those areas, I am able to achieve the success I desire in my life. Other time frames vital to this concept are the first month of the year, and the first day of the month, the first day of the year, and the first week of the year. I am sure that you can think of many more firsts.
Here's an example of how it works: In the first hour of the day, plan to do something that will produce a desired result. Don't waste that precious hour. Make that hour even more productive by telling someone you love them-or better yet, show your love to them-within the very first minutes of the day. What a great way to start the day for you and your loved one! Think of ways you can make every first in your life more productive.
Thomas Edison once said, "I never allow myself to become discouraged under any circumstances . . . The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-it-iveness; third, common sense." When you consistently apply The Quick Start Concept , planning for success in these areas, for at least one month, you will begin to see results.
On the Sunny Side of Life: Angels Explained by Children
Gregory, 5:
I only know the names of two angels. Hark and Harold.
Olive, 9:
Everybody's got it all wrong. Angels don't wear halos anymore. I forget why, but scientists are working on it.
Mitchell, 7:
Angels work for God and watch over kids when God has to go do something else.
Henry, 8
My guardian angel helps me with math, but he's not much good for science.
Jack, 6:
Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from Holy Cows!!!
Daniel, 9:
Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The main subject is where you went wrong before you got dead.
Reagan, 10:
When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath and counts to ten. When he lets out his breath, somewhere there's a tornado.
