From the Desk of Bob

Greetings!

Time is a precious commodity. I cherish the concept of time. I want to maximize life by effectively utilizing the time that I am given each day. Over the last 30 years I have searched for every tool possible to get real value out of the 24 hours of each day. I am dedicating a season of time to that emphasis here in Monday Morning Motivations. As a result of this commitment I believe you will be challenged and encouraged to look at time differently.

The clock is ticking! Bob

Life Attitudes

Benjamin Franklin: "Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that's the stuff life is made of."

Michael Althsuler: "The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot."

Henry Ward Beecher: "The first hour of the morning is the rudder of the day."

Seeds of Success: A Time Management Tool That Works!

By Robert A. Prentice

I challenge myself to manage my time more effectively by applying a formula I call The Quick Start Concept. By thinking in terms of the firsts-first hour of the day, first day of the week, first week of the month, and so on-and focusing on planning in those areas, I am able to achieve the success I desire in my life. Other time frames vital to this concept are the first month of the year, and the first day of the month, the first day of the year, and the first week of the year. I am sure that you can think of many more firsts.

Here's an example of how it works: In the first hour of the day, plan to do something that will produce a desired result. Don't waste that precious hour. Make that hour even more productive by telling someone you love them-or better yet, show your love to them-within the very first minutes of the day. What a great way to start the day for you and your loved one! Think of ways you can make every first in your life more productive.

Thomas Edison once said, "I never allow myself to become discouraged under any circumstances . . . The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-it-iveness; third, common sense." When you consistently apply The Quick Start Concept, planning for success in these areas, for at least one month, you will begin to see results.

On the Sunny Side of Life: SOMETHING SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT

Here are amusing - even clever - plays on words.  These are the sort of jokes that make you smile rather than laugh.

What's the definition of a will? It's a dead giveaway.

A backward poet writes inverse.

With her marriage she got a new name and a dress.

The man who fell into an upholstery machine is fully recovered.

He had a photographic memory, which was never developed.

When an actress saw her first strands of grey hair, she thought she'd dye.
