From the Desk of Bob
I had the most fun down in Chamberlain this last week with a wonderful group focusing on Creativity. We had a great time learning about tapping into our personal creative potential. The ideas were next to incredible that came from the processes that we talked about that day. I wish you all could have been there.
Summertime is officially here with beach balls, BBQ's, and bank accounts being tapped out from all the summer travel and summertime gala. Be sure to take some time to learn a new skill, or enhance your skills this summer. It may pay off big-time later.
Professional Development Systems is at your service if you want to learn time management skills, stress management skills, creative thinking skills, or communication skills. If you would like to beef up your sales skills or leadership skills I am here for you.
Life is a series of choices and decisions, so choose wisely what you will do with your week-your summer-your life!
Have an excellent week! Bob

Life Attitudes
Caroline Schoeder: "Some people change when they see the light, others when they feel the heat."
M. Scott Peck: "The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers."
Tony Robbins: "If we habitually focus on how to improve things that are already great, can you see how this spirit can transform ourselves, our organizations, families and communities?"

Seeds of Success: Positive Action Leads to Positive Growth
By Robert A. Prentice
My dear wife, in my opinion, has become an expert in the area of patience. I know and believe this because she has been very patient with me for over thirty years. Vicki's role, as a mother to our four children has also provided her countless opportunities to learn and develop her patience. Over the years, her ability to respond patiently has often caught my attention.
"Practice patience and you develop patience," Vicki reminds me. She has certainly taught me a powerful lesson here, since having patience is something that I really have struggled with over the years. You need to understand this about me-I am kind of spoiled and I usually want things now. I figure it must have something to do with this instant gratification world we have grown up in and now are living in. (Smile!)
Actually, I admit this is an area in my life that I am working on most everyday. I want to become a more patient person, because if I can overcome this challenge in my life I know that my negative stress will be much more manageable and I will be even happier with the circumstances around me. I know it is vital that I be willing to learn. I want to be teachable too, so I can learn and become a more patient person. I have shared this to let you know that I know I have not arrived; but I also know that I have mega-growth potential.
May I ask, what is there in you life that is lacking-maybe not quite up to par? Dig deep and search far and wide. Be honest with yourself and write down what challenge or area in your life that you know and feel needs to be addressed and some of the benefits of taking action. Is it procrastination, a lack of planning, or not making very good decisions? Or possibly you are encountering a number of relationship issues. What is holding you back from greater success in your life?
Smart people will not bury their heads into the sand, ignoring their challenges and flaws of character, but will consistently find and discover areas in their life that need improvement. They will recognize the opportunities that come their way to help them to grow in those areas, and then they will take action that results in positive change.
A word to the wise: Never compare yourself and your personal growth to others; instead, measure your growth by noting where you are now compared with where you were last week, last month, last year, or even five years ago. Recognize and congratulate yourself on your slow and steady progress toward becoming the person you want to be.
Whether its patience or something else you have to learn, be teachable and willing to change. Take positive action and positive change is inevitable.
On the Sunny Side of Life: WHY CAN'T WE FEED THE BEARS?
The following views are actually suggestions and comments that have been received by the National Forest Service from visitors to our nation's parks.
"Escalators would help on steep uphill areas of the hiking trails."
"Many trails need to be reconstructed. Please avoid building ones that go uphill."
"Too many bugs and leeches and spider webs. Please spray wilderness areas to rid them of these pests."
"Chair lifts need to be in some places so that we can get to the wonderful views without having to hike to them."
"The coyotes made too much noise last night and kept me awake. Please eradicate these annoying animals."
"It would be nice to have the Kodak scenic markers so we could identify the photographic sites."
"I like all the trees but you need to plant some flowers. Flower gardens would be so pretty in the forest."
"The giant trees are spectacular but there are too many of the same kind; you should plant different types, for variety."
"Reflectors need to be placed on the trees every 50 feet so people could hike at night with flashlights."
"You should have a petting zoo here so that the children could touch the squirrels, deer and bears."
"I was stung by a bee; you should have warning signs."
"A McDonald's would be a nice sight at the trailhead."
"The places where trails do not exist are not well marked."
"Too many rocks on the mountains."
"A deer came into my camp and stole my bag of chips. Is there away I can get reimbursed: Please call . . . . ."
