From the Desk of Bob
Greetings!
Today, I want to share some brief trivia with you from the animal kingdom: A sloth moves so slowly that algae actually grows in its fur! Wow, that's slow! I sure hope that I never move that slowly; I want to be known as a "get it done" kind of guy. This get it done kind of attitude requires speed and dedication to quality.
I am reminded of another old saying that goes well with the above trivia: Think slowly but act quickly.
I also like this old adage: Engage brain before opening mouth or taking any action.
Today my mind is spilling over with these kinds of thoughts and attitudes. I believe Thomas Ken said it well:
"Awake, my soul, and with the sun
Thy daily stage of duty run;
Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise,
To pay thy morning sacrifice."
Take action and become! Bob

"So many fail because they don't get started- they don't go. They don't overcome inertia; They don't begin." -W. Clement Stone
"Give yourself an even greater challenge than the one you are trying to master and you will develop the powers necessary to overcome the original difficulty." -William Bennett
"Our energy is in proportion to the resistance it meets. We attempt nothing great but from a sense of the difficulties we have to encounter, we persevere in nothing great but from a pride in overcoming them." -William Hazlitt

Seeds of Success: Lessons from the School of Hard Knocks
By Robert A. Prentice
The "school of hard knocks" gives no diploma-only scars. We all have gotten off track at one time or another in life. I know that personally I have messed up plenty of times, receiving much of my education through hard knocks, and I've certainly got the scars to prove it. Can any of you relate?
One thing I have learned for sure is that no one is going to come along and clean up your messes for you. You've got to take your own personal responsibility to get things cleaned things up. So when you realize that you have gotten sidetracked, you have to do whatever it takes to get back on the right track again. You've got to take the high road, get on the right road, make effective and right decisions and, through hindsight, learn whatever you can from these powerful life lessons.
Over a lifetime we all will have numerous opportunities to get off track and then get back on track. These are not the times to beat yourself up, for if you spend too much time beating yourself up, you tend to hesitate when it is time to move forward again-and that can be a real set back when you allow that to happen.
Determine you will keep things moving, even if you've fallen down. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and do your best to squeeze all the good you can from your difficult life experience. This will be like a fuel to fire you up for greater motivations in the future, which will perpetuate a number of positive results and successes in your life, as you continue to learn the lessons the "school of hard knocks" provides.
On the Sunny Side of Life: Never ArgueJust Crochet!
An elderly couple celebrating their 50th anniversary had no secrets, except for one shoe box the wife had kept hidden away. She now decided to let her husband see it. When he opened it he found two crocheted dolls and $50,000 in cash.
She explained, "Year's ago my mother told me that the secret to a happy marriage was never to argue. She said that when I got angry I was to crochet a doll and keep quiet."
The husband was elated that she had only been angry twice but had to ask about the $50,000. "Oh," she said smiling, "that's from selling dolls."
