From the Desk of Bob
I have been cooling off in our new backyard swimming pool. Oh, how fun! It was my Father's Day present from my loving family. Staying calm, cool and collected is a high priority for me. How can I be an effective leader in any other way? There is no way that I am going to allow the negative stresses of life or business rob me of my blessings, peace or joy.
I hope your summer is filled with fun and frolic too!
Have a good one! Bob

Seeds of Success: Take Care of Yourself
By Robert A. Prentice
If you are going to be effective with others it is a must that you take care of yourself. When you allow yourself to get run down, tired, worn out, and broken there is no way that you can be effective in sales, productivity, leadership-as a mom or dad, or as a business leader. Only when you truly take care of yourself can you take care of others. Now you need to understand that this is not a selfish thing. I know that it can sound confusing and very selfish but this principle of taking care of yourself so that you can take better care of others is a reality. This is a sound, solid way to live.
I have known so many moms that go, go, go and then are cranky and have very little patience for their children. I have known so many bosses who are workaholics and then they yell and scream at their employees. Negative stress is ruling our land and this is so sad. Take a stand today; do not allow the "things" in life to control you. Maximize your life by simply learning to enjoy the process of living.
Find a hobby that will make you happy. Watch less TV! Take a nap. Hold the hand of someone that you love and care about. Take a walk. Mow the lawn. There is nothing like the smell of fresh cut grass to enrich your life. Build a campfire and roast some marshmallows. These are the kinds of activities that will enrich your life and help you to get a grip when things seem to be slipping.
There is a great richness in living life in the simple. Let me encourage you today to find the simple joys in life and maximize you living. Take care of yourself and watch how things begin to change for the better. Take care of yourself and encourage others to do the same.

On the Sunny Side of Life
A man observed a woman in the grocery store with a three year old girl in her basket. As they passed the cookie section, the child asked for cookies and her mother told her "no." The little girl immediately began to whine and fuss, and the mother said quietly, "Now Ellen, we just have half of the aisles left to go through; don't be upset. It won't be long."
He passed the mother again in the candy aisle. Of course, the little girl began to shout for candy. When she was told she couldn't have any, she began to cry. The mother said, "There, there, Ellen, don't cry. Only two more aisles to go, and then we'll be checking out."
The man again happened to be behind the pair at the check-out, where the little girl immediately began to clamor for gum and burst into a terrible tantrum upon discovering there would be no gum purchased today. The mother patiently said, "Ellen, we'll be through this check out stand in five minutes, and then you can go home and have a nice nap."
The man followed them out to the parking lot and stopped the woman to compliment her. "I couldn't help noticing how patient you were with little Ellen..."
The mother broke in, "My little girl's name is Tammy; I'm Ellen."
