From the Desk of Bob
In my humble opinion, I believe that we should celebrate Mother’s Day EVERYDAY. Where would we all be with out our Mom’s? Well, life is so good here in my world. I hope everyone is having a wonderful month of May.

I should mention a new internet friend of mine. His name is Joe Kneeland. He owns a company called www.barterfest.com! I happen to write the blog and produce the podcast for them in their education center. Please do check this site out. This concept of barter has been a hobby of mine for a quarter century.

I am going to start spot-lighting some of my “favorites” each week here in Monday Morning Motivations. Be watching for more of my favs. Also, please remember that www.prairiebeaconradio.com is here for a resource for you. So please take advantage of it. Tell others too.

Have a week full of success and happiness! Bob

Seeds of Success: Going Off To Fun

By Robert A. Prentice

I was in the office of a good friend the other day and he teased me about how much I enjoy “playing” business. I admit that I when I think of my life and business, I do think FUN! I am so fortunate to be able to make a living doing something I enjoy so much. Whether I am writing or speaking or consulting or “playing business” I know that I am going to give it 100% of my potential.

I have read that most human beings on this planet are tapping into a mere two to three percent of their total potential. It’s my personal opinion that tapping into one’s God given potential is a very important thing to do, and yet how many of us really know how to do it?

I want to share a couple of things I do to help me tap into my potential. But before I do, let me confirm that your “potential” is a gift, and what you choose to do with it is your responsibility. You must never let your potential go to waste, no matter what it takes.

One of ways I endeavor to tap into my potential, personally and professionally, is researching the subjects I am interested in. Here is an example of some subjects I literally cannot get enough of: attitude, commitment, leadership, success, human behavior, selling, and customer service. Of course, the list could go on and on.

As I go through the process of gathering all the facts I possibly can, regarding a subject of interest to me, I capture data, ask lots of questions, and then look for ways to think differently about what I am studying and learning about. It is most helpful to get things out of my head by “thinking things through” on paper. I am always amazed at how much easier it is to see things from a different perspective when I process information this way.

I also like to always be ready to seize opportunities when they come. You never know how much growth might come from agreeing to do something that will take you out of your comfort zone. Always be aware of the ways you might be able to apply your newfound knowledge to situations and circumstances you are facing.

Keep in mind that reaching your potential is a life long process. If you are like me, and you want to make positive contributions in this world, you need to always be learning, growing and improving. As you learn, grow and improve, you will automatically be making the most of your potential. This isn’t a “hit or miss” kind of thing, though. It’s something that needs to be a part of who you are each and every day of your life.

A definite side bonus is that when you do your job with the right attitude, it’s like going off to FUN every day!

To Be READY Ya Gotta Be:

RESOURCEFUL: Deal skillfully and promptly with new situations. Use what is available to you to overcome difficulties and solve problems.

EDUCATED: Receive instruction from the schooling available by drawing upon your natural intelligence and willingness to learn. Let your teachers bring out the best in you.

AMBITIOUS: Be eager and bold to unleash the power of reaching for your dreams. Experience the passion of enthusiasm.

DECISIVE: Engage your powers of determination and display your ability to choose. Be free from ambiguity and hesitation. Resolve your determination to pursue your goals.

YOUTHFUL: Embrace a wholsome enjoyment of freshness and vigor. Enliven yourself with the eternal qualities of innocence, curiousity and vitality.
